For over 20 years belongs Hoekstra Kielmakerij & Foundry to lead one of the largest foundries in the Netherlands.
Hoekstra kielmakerij and foundry is a company, specializing in casting lead keels, counterweights and ballast lead to size.
The manufacture of castings is highly skilled work and requires a lot of skill. In addition to a precise dimensions must be taken into account the so-called shrinkage which occurs during the solidification and cooling in the mold.
We are also specialized in making sand molds, we made a special mold, consisting of quartz sand, which is extremely heat resistant and therefore ideal form material. These molds may be formed to a model provided for the manufacture of solid lead keels.
Our lead ingots and lead shot are used as trim or as ordinary ballast ballast.

We have become a respected, specialized company mainly engaged in the EU. With our knowledge and years of experience, we strive for perfection, which we have many ships and shipyards, bridge builders and construction companies with our products.
Since 1999, Hoekstra Kielmakerij & Foundry located in the industrial area “Het Kanaal” in Heerenveen. We have here an industrial building, specially designed for casting lead in almost all shapes and sizes. We also have a water basin, which takes care of cooling to avoid any distortion.
There is also the possibility to pour lead on location.
Of course we have all necessary permits for the processing of the materials supplied by us.
